Rabbi Gordon Tucker, Senior Rabbi of Temple Israel Center in White Plains and professor of philosophy, is a leading expert on the teachings of Abraham Joshua Heschel, having translated the monumental work "Heavenly Torah" from Hebrew to English. Rabbi Tucker discusses Heschel's perspective on prayer as an expression of our yearning, the role of structure in crafting a prayer experience, and Heschel's understanding of prophecy as a way of connecting to God.
